PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Stony Brook tennis team competed at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships last week, showcasing several solid performances in singles and doubles play.

As a team, the Seawolves recorded 10 match wins in the main draws of singles and doubles play at the regional tournament, delivering strong results throughout and achieving one of the best regional performances in program history. In singles competition, Elena Lobo-Corral picked up two big wins, advancing to the round of 16, where she fell in a highly contested match to the eventual regional champion in singles. 

Sanjana Devineni and Paisha Douglas also recorded two wins each in the qualifying draw to advance into the singles main draw, where Devineni picked up another win.

In doubles play, the pairing of Douglas and Lobo-Corral won two matches, starting with an impressive victory over the number one-seeded team from Princeton. They followed that up with another victory in the round of 32 before falling in the round of 16. Mia Palladino and Devineni also won their opening round matchup in the doubles draw.
