Tennis Takes Down Wagner For Second Straight Win

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The Stony Brook tennis team had itself a successful Super Bowl Sunday, defeating Wagner by a 6-1 scoreline. Big-time performances up and down the roster allowed the Seawolves to cruise to victory over the Seahawks.

Stony Brook took care of business in doubles play, taking two out of three games to secure the point. Elena Lobo-Corral and Mila Charles continued their strong doubles play with a win in game one, followed by a win in the following game from Lorin Tilipman and Kristi Boro to clinch the doubles point in favor of the Seawolves.

Stony Brook continued winning in singles play, securing five out of six matches with victories from Lobo-Corral, Lorin Tilipman, Mia Palladino, Cornelia Bruu-Syversen, and Mila Charles.

  • Tilipman/Boro (SBU) def. Madail/Vera (WAG), 6-3
  • Hernandez/Bentsianov (WAG) def. Palladino/Medved (SBU), 6-4

  • Lobo-Corral (SBU) def. Sataite (WAG), 4-6, 6-4, 6-3
  • Tilipman (SBU) def. Madail (WAG), 6-2, 6-1
  • Palladino (SBU) def. Lindsey (WAG), 6-1, 6-1
  • Hernandez (WAG) def. Boro (SBU), 6-1, 6-4
  • Bruu-Syversen (SBU) def. Uy (WAG), 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4
  • Charles (SBU) def. Vera (WAG), 4-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-1
