Tennis Picks Up Hard Fought Win Over Bryant

CUMBERLAND, R.I.- The Stony Brook tennis team earned its way back into the win column with a hard-fought victory over Bryant on Friday.

The Seawolves defeated the Bulldogs 4-3 via two wins in doubles play and three in singles competition.

After dropping the opening doubles match, Stony Brook rattled off back-to-back victories in matches two and three to secure the doubles point. The crucial doubles point was secured by the pairings of Kristi Boro / Mia Palladino and Sara Medved / Cornelia Bruu-Syversen.

Stony Brook claimed victory with three wins in singles play by Elena Lobo-Corral, Palladino, and Bruu-Syversen.

  • Boro/Palladino (SBU) def. Pino/Noy (BU), 6-3

  • Palladino (SBU) def. Noy (BU), 6-3, 6-4
  • Bruu-Syversen (SBU) def. Munson (BU), 6-3, 2-6, 6-2
  • Hernandez Diaz (BU) def. Boro (SBU), 6-4, 4-6, 7-5
  • Pedwell (BU) def. Charles (SBU), 7-6 (3), 6-1
  • Dugec (BU) def. Medved (SBU), 6-4, 6-1
