Clutch Play Propels Tennis To Victory Over Fairfield

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Clutch performances in both singles and doubles play helped propel the Stony Brook tennis team to victory Saturday night, as the Seawolves defeated Fairfield 4-3.

Stony Brook took two of three doubles games to record the point, with Elena Lobo-Corral and Mila Charles teaming up for a win in game one and the pairing of Mia Palladino and Sara Medved taking game three.

The Seawolves carried their momentum into singles play, as wins from Lobo-Corral, Palladino, and Lorin Tilipman proved to be the difference-maker in securing the win.

  • Tilipman (SBU) def. Liu (FU), 6-2, 6-3
  • Loeffler (FU) def. Boro (SBU), 6-3, 6-1
  • Cassidy (FU) def. Bruu-Syversen (SBU), 6-3, 6-4
  • Malinowski (FU) def. Medved (SBU), 6-1, 6-2

The Seawolves are right back to it tomorrow for a road match against Wagner, with first serve at 6 p.m.
