Gilstrap Named CAA Runner of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. The Stony Brook men's cross country team picked up its first weekly honor of the season today as Collin Gilstrap was named CAA Runner of the Week following his victory at the 21st annual Ted Owen Invitational. This is the third weekly honor of his career.

On Saturday, Gilstrap led the Seawolves to victory in New Britain, Connecticut as he took first place out of 98 runners with a time of 25:19.30 in the 8,200-meter course. He finished just under two seconds ahead of the second-place runner. In total, four Seawolves finished in the top 10 to secure the team victory.

Gilstrap and the Seawolves will next compete in the Paul Short Run on Friday, October 3, in Lehigh, Pennsylvania.

Gilstrap previously took home Cross Country Runner of the Week honors on September 17, 2024, as well as track & field Runner of the Week honors on April 22, 2025.
