HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Seawolves made it back-to-back wins to open the season as the men took first place out of eight teams in the Main Line Invitational on Friday, hosted by Haverford. Leading the way was
Ethan Green with a third-place finish out of 150 runners in the 4-mile race.
The team finished with 34 points, just one point ahead of second-place George Mason and 43 ahead of Haverford in third.
Green finished with a time of 19:39.0 to lead the Seawolves, with
Collin Gilstrap right behind him in fourth place with a time of 19:43.2
Silas Gartner (19:48.6) and
Ryan Hesler (19:56.7) rounded out the top 10 in sixth and 10th place, respectively.
HIGHLIGHTS
- This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Seawolves have won their first two meets.
- Overall, 12 Seawolves finished inside the top 50 today.
- Danny Casatelli finished one second behind Hesler in 11th place.
- Green, Gilstrap, Gartner, Hesler, and Casatelli were five of the 14 runners to finish sub-20 today. Hesler now has back-to-back 10th-place finished to begin his career.
- Gavin Catherwood placed 15th with a time of 20:01.6.
- Percy Moser was the seventh Seawolf in the top 25 today as he ran a 20:21.6 to finish 23rd.
- In his second career race, Alexander Medina placed 32nd with a time of 20:37.8

With the first month of the season down, the Seawolves are back outside on Friday, October 2 at 9:30 a.m. for the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa.
