Goslar Finishes Runner Up and Leads Team to Top 3 Finish at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. — In their second meet of the season, the Seawolves took third place out of 13 teams in the Main Line Invitational hosted by Haverford on Friday. The women totaled 73 points, trailing only Penn (62 points) and Villanova (44) while finishing just ahead of La Salle (91) and George Mason (120). Shaylen Goslar once again paced the team as she turned in another top-five performance, taking second place today in the field of 150 runners in the 5000-meter.

Goslar set a new career best today with a time of 17:47.20. This marks a 12-second improvement over her previous best set last September in the Ted Owen Invitational (17:59.6).

Ava Carsley was also finished in the top 10, taking sixth place with a time of 17:58.5, making her one of just seven runners today to finish in under 18 minutes. Danielle Cirrito posted a top-10 finish as well, placing ninth with a time of 18:04.4

Seven more Seawolves finished in the top half of the field, led by freshman Kirsten Anastasio who placed 25th (18:30.8).

HIGHLIGHTS
  • For Cirrito, this is her second top-10 finish of the year after taking eighth in the Stony Brook Season Opener.
  • Likewise, Anastasio already has two top-25 finishes to begin her career after placing 10th in the previous meet.
  • Sarah Williams, who took 38th, set a new personal best with a time of 18:59.6, beating her previous mark of 19:12.3.
  • Mia Sandolo (52nd) also PR'd today with a time of 19:37.3, four seconds ahead of her previous best.
  • Camille Litchenstein finished 59th (20:00.7) in her second ever race.

UP NEXT
The Seawolves head to Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday, October 2 for a 9:30 a.m. start in the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
