Rob Emmerich, Jr., Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations at the University at Stony Brook, received Excellence in Sports Information Honors from Soccerbuzz.com, the website announced this week.
Emmerich, who has served as the Stony Brook women's soccer contact for four years, was named first in the Northeast Region and 10th in the nation for his reporting efforts.
Emmerich served as Sports Information Director for the past three years before being promoted to Asst. AD last summer. He joined USB in 1996 as Assistant Director. In 1998, his women's basketball media guide earned Best in the Nation honors.
Emmerich graduated from Cornell in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in industrial and labor relations and earned his master's degree from Stony Brook in 1995.
"It's flattering to be recognized in such good company," Emmerich said. "Such recognition is a reflection of the outstanding support of our athletic department and my staff."
