The Pack, Stony Brook's student fan club, celebrated the end of its first year on Tuesday, May 1, with its first annual awards ceremony, barbecue and co-ed basketball tournament.
Forty-six Pack members received prizes from Dr. Richard Laskowski, Dean of Physical Education and Athletics. Also attending were head men's basketball coach Nick Macarchuk and his staff, as well as members of the basketball team and other administrators from the athletic department.
Stacy Lassi and Joel Dampf, who recorded the highest attendance with 22 games, received the top prize--share of a $1700 tuition waiver. Adam Lazarus received a VCR for 17 games attended, and Nicole Lawrence was awarded a CD player for 14 games.
Other prizes given were embroidered vests, walkmans and monogrammed glasses.
