Stony Brook University hosted its annual Take Your Daughters to Work Day on June 12, 2002. Children of Stony Brook employees visited the Sports Complex t to learn about different jobs and careers in Seawolves athletics.
The participants visited the Athletic Media Relations office and learned about coaching during a session with assistant basketball coach Silver Shellman, assistant women's lacrosse coach Meghan McNamara, assistant softball coach Andrea D'Innocenzo, and head women's lacrosse coach Danie Caro. The children also visited the athletic training room and enjoyed a presentation by assistant athletic trainer Lisa Cantara.
Take Your Daughter to Work Day was established for children and the adults in their lives as a show of support for the continuing issues that girls and women face in society.
