In only it's fourth year, the annual Providing Athletes With Scholarships Campaign raised over $716,000 in scholarship dollars which are awarded annually to Stony Brook student-athletes. The campaign is held each spring and was comprised this past year of nine teams and over 70 volunteers who worked for five weeks gathering donations and building community involvement in Seawolves Athletics.
Approximately 400 students participate on one of Stony Brook's 19 athletic teams and 53% of them receive financial support due to the dollars raised through the campaign.
All supporters who donate to the campaign become members of the Seawolves Club and enjoy a vast array of benefits including special event invitations, priority points for better seat location at Seawolves football, basketball and lacrosse games, as well as preferred parking and merchandise discounts. A record 847 people donated through the P.A.W.S. Campaign this year.
