Kathy Koshansky Selected To Work 2003 Pan Am Games

July 31, 2003

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook head athletic trainer Kathy Koshansky has been selected by the United States Olympic Committee to work at the 2003 Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from August 1 - August 17. Koshansky, an athletic trainer at Stony Brook since 1983, was chosen from a large number of applicants as part of the USOC's Sports Medicine Volunteer Program.

Koshansky received a prestigious level three appointment by the USOC requiring three weeks of service and qualifies an athletic trainer to work international games such as the Pan Am Games, the World University Summer or Winter Games or other USOC endorsed games.

The USOC program is a four-level system with level four representing the highest level of service which would qualify an athletic trainer to perform an eight-week stint at the Olympic Games.
