BOSTON, Mass. -- Stony Brook got back on the winning track Wednesday afternoon as the Seawolves knocked off Northeastern 2-0 in Boston, Mass. The shutout marked the Seawolves' sixth of the season and improved their record to 7-1, as the Huskies drop to 4-6 on the year.

Freshman Shane Arikian (West Islip, N.Y.) scored his third goal of the season to get the Seawolves on the board early in the first half, when he headed Alton Allen's (Roosevelt, N.Y.) cross past NU goalie Allan Lewis in the 16th minute.

The game was scoreless for nearly the next 70 minutes until senior Juan Serna (Jackson Heights, N.Y.) blasted a 30-yard shot over the hands of a outstretched Lewis.

The Huskies got off 13 shots, but USB freshman goalkeeper Dan Ferrin (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) made eight saves on the day to thwart Northeastern's chances.

Stony Brook's Michael Soto (East Rockaway, N.Y.) hit a 32-yard field goal in the first quarter, capping off an 11-play, 53-yard drive and more importantly closed the Seahawks lead to 6-3. Wagner capitalized as Chris Davis capped off a three-play, 42-yard drive with an eight-yard rushing score, highlighted by a long return of the kickoff. Steve Cross' extra-point failed for the second time in the game and Wagner led, 21-3.

On their next possession, Wagner was at it again, getting a huge play from its junior quarterback, who hit Jason Bain on a 33-yard scoring strike that put the game out of reach for Stony Brook at 28-3 with :21 remaining in the third quarter. Bain caught nine passes for 142 yards on the day. Chuck Kinsley caught three passes for 91 yards for the Seahawks and also had a touchdown.
