Impact

Capital Projects
Stony Brook Athletics must continually address the growing needs of our student-athletes and the spaces in which they learn, train and compete. As the program continues to evolve, facilities will play an increasingly vital role in our future success while enhancing our ability to attract prospective student-athletes to Stony Brook.

Our primary objective for each facility is to enhance the student-athlete experience but we will also work to create unique fan experiences within our competitive venues. As we look closely at the needs of our student-athletes, we must also maintain alignment with the master facilities plan for Stony Brook due to the numerous projects that take place not only within Athletics but across the campus as a whole. It is imperative that the master facilities plan for Stony Brook Athletics address the present needs with ample consideration given to where we aspire to be in the future. Our ability to advance any of these following projects is contingent upon securing the requisite funds through public or private means; therefore, we must work diligently to identify avenues of support for all capital projects.

Completed Capital Projects

Stony Brook Athletics Indoor Training Facility

State-of-the-art indoor practice facility that will  be used by all athletic programs during periods of inclement weather. The 65-foot-high indoor facility has 80 yards of turf, including the end zones.  The facility also has 360-degree netting, a scoreboard and a dropdown net at center field. This will allow the facility to be split into two separate areas for simultaneous practices.
