2024-25 (Junior):
Outdoor: Posted a second-place finish in the 5000-meter (15:13.77) in the Mark Young Invitational… Ended the season finishing 10th in the 10,000-meter (31:23.87) in the CAA Outdoor Championships.

Indoor: Finished inside of the top 20 in every race he ran in during the winter, beginning with a 17th-place finish in the 3000-meter (8:54.07) in the Rutgers Holiday Classic… Had his best finish of the year after finishing third in the 3000-meter (8:36.91) in the Ramapo College Season Opener… Recorded a new personal best in the 3000-meter (8:32.70) in a 12th-place finish at the Fastrack National Invite… Also had a career best and placed 15th in the 5000-meter (15:04.13) during the CAA Indoor Championships.

Cross Country: In the Princeton Fall Classic recorded a new career best in the 8K (25:24.00)… Also set a personal best in the 5K (15:17.00) in the CCSU Mini Meet… Competed in the 8K (26:06.20) in the CAA Championships… Ran a career-best 35:34.40 in the 10K at the NCAA Northeast Regional.

2023-24 (Sophomore):
Outdoor: Did not compete in the season.

Indoor: Did not compete in the season.

Cross Country: Finished 17th in The IC4A/ECAC XC Championship… Competed at The CAA Cross Country Championship.

2022-23 (Freshman):
Outdoor: Took 17th in the 5000m at the CAA Outdoor Championships… Secured a fifth-place finish in the 5000m at the Mark Young Invite… Set a new personal best in the 5000m (15:08.46) at the Colonial Relays… Registered a second-place finish in the 3000m at the Snowflake Classic.

Indoor: Placed 15th and set a new personal best in the 3000m (8:36.63) at the CAA Indoor Championships… Earned a personal best in the mile (4:28.74) at the Scarlet Knight Open… Recorded an 11th-place finish in the 3000m at the Rutgers Holiday Classic.

Cross Country: Placed 14th at the Stony Brook Season Opener with a final time of 21:13.0(6K) and an average mile time of 05:41.3… Crossed the finish line in 185th place at ECAC XC Championships with a final time of 26:50.5 (Men’s 8k) and an average mile time of 05:24.0.

AT NANUET SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: Five-time All-Section First Team… Five-time All-County First Team… Five-time All-League First Team… Two-time state sportsmanship recipient… Back-to-back Cross Country Rockland County Champion… Four-year letterwinner, two-year captain.

PERSONAL: Son of Jackeline and John Fontanez… First person in the family to commit to a division I school.
