Mia Haynes

Mia Haynes, a dominant force in the circle for Stony Brook, concluded an exceptional collegiate softball career in 2024 and returned to the program as a student assistant coach for the 2025 season. In her role, Haynes works with Stony Brook's pitching staff, assists with on-campus recruiting, provides software support, helps organize community service initiatives and plays an integral role in camps and clinics.

As a senior, Haynes recorded a 14-9 record over 33 appearances (28 starts), leading the team with 165.1 innings pitched. She struck out 139 batters, held opponents to a .228 batting average, and posted a 3.48 earned run average with a 1.31 WHIP. Among her 12 complete games were four shutouts, including one combined shutout.

Haynes also had a remarkable junior season, earning a spot on the CAA All-Tournament Team and being named CAA Pitcher of the Week twice. She led the team in multiple categories, including wins (19), innings pitched (184.2), and strikeouts (103), while boasting a 3.11 earned run average. Her contributions helped propel the team deep into the CAA Tournament, where she pitched a record 36.1 innings across six appearances, including a complete-game shutout against top-seeded Delaware.
