Charlotte Verhulst joined the Stony Brook women's lacrosse coaching staff prior to the 2025 season, as announced by head coach Joe Spallina.
In her first season as a coach, Verhulst assisted in the Seawolves' success going 16-5 overall and 8-0 in league action to earn their third consecutive regular season title and championship crown in as many seasons in the CAA. Stony Brook made their 12th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, defeating Loyola Maryland, 11-8, in the first round before giving No. 2/3 Boston College a run for their money in the second round, falling to the Eagles, 10-7. Overall, she led the draw control unit who tallied 296 wins to opponents' 259, while helping the 15th-ranked offense in the country, scoring 14.62 goals per game.
Before joining the Seawolves staff, Verhulst was a five-year member of the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team, where she played a pivotal role on the squad's draw unit. She helped the team to a pair of America East titles in 2021 and 2022 before winning two consecutive CAA Championships in 2023 and 2024. She participated in four-straight NCAA Tournaments with Stony Brook advancing to a pair of Second Round and Quarterfinal appearances.
Verhulst is a USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention, two-time All-CAA Second Team selection, CAA All-Championship Team honoree, and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll recipient.
The Saint James, N.Y. native appeared in 80 games throughout her five-year career, starting in 74 of those contests for the Seawolves. She totaled 100 points on 71 goals and 29 assists, notching a career-high 42 goals and 17 assists in her graduate season. She tallied 244 draw controls for fourth all-time in program history, along with 54 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.
Verhulst graduated from Stony Brook after coming off its 11th straight NCAA Tournament berth, defeating Niagara 19-7 in the First Round before a 15-10 loss in the Second Round to No. 3 Syracuse.
