Sydney Pirreca

Sydney Pirreca joined the Stony Brook women's lacrosse coaching staff in September of 2021, entering her fourth season at the start of the 2025 campaign. 
 
In 2025, Pirreca assisted the Seawolves to a 16-5 overall record, going 8-0 in league action to earn their third consecutive regular season title and championship crown in as many seasons in the CAA. The Seawolves made their 12th straight NCAA Tournament appearance (Pirreca's fourth with the team), defeating Loyola Maryland, 11-8, in the first round before giving No. 2/3 Boston College a run for their money in the second round, falling to the Eagles, 10-7. Overall, she helped lead the offense which ranked 15th in the country, scoring 14.62 goals per game. 

During the 2024 season, the Seawolves boasted an 18-3 overall record, while going 8-0 in conference play and capturing their second consecutive CAA crown after defeating Drexel. Stony Brook dominated Niagara to reach the NCAA Tournament Second Round for the 11th straight season, taking on No. 3 Syracuse. Pirreca assisted in the development of Tewaaraton finalist and back-to-back CAA Midfielder of the Year, Ellie Masera, along with All-Americans in Kailyn Hart and Charlotte Verhulst. For their efforts, Spallina, Pirreca, and the rest of the staff was named the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year.

Stony Brook played it first season in the CAA in 2023, finishing 15-4 overall and 7-0 in league play. The Seawolves dominated Towson to capture its first CAA title and defeated Penn State to reach the NCAA Second Round for the 10th consecutive year. Stony Brook started the season with three ranked-opponent victories in its first four games.

Pirreca joined the staff in Stony Brook's final season in the America East (2022), as the Seawolves returned to the NCAA Quarterfinals, defeating Drexel and Rutgers by a combined 27-11 margin in the first two rounds. Stony Brook was once again undefeated in regular season league play, going 6-0. The 2022 season featured wins over five ranked opponents including a 14-13 road win at No. 11 Florida (Pirreca's alma mater) and a 16-8 victory at No. 10 Princeton.

Prior to Stony Brook, Pirreca was an assistant coach at Syracuse with their women's lacrosse program for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. While at Syracuse, she assisted with player development, travel planning, organizing team events and the team calendar, individual development of Syracuse student-athletes, and was a coach for their offensive and defensive units.

Pirreca is a 2019 graduate of the University of Florida, where she was a four-year student-athlete, team captain, and has her name marked down in the Florida Women's Lacrosse record books.
