Chris Canaday is now in his second season with the Stony Brook tennis program as an assistant coach. He assists Coach Glassman with all aspects of the tennis program as part of his day-to-day duties.
Canady arrived at Stony Brook from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where he spent the 2007-08 season as an assistant coach. While there he helped guide the Bearcats to the 2008 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Regional championships. He developed the team[apos]s strength and conditioning program and supervised all of the squad[apos]s training activities.
In addition to coaching experience, Canady also brings camp experience to his position at Stony Brook. He has served as the Assistant Director of Tennis at Camp Winadu in Massachusetts where he assisted with the training of the staff and supervision of camp operations.
Canady also served at Southwest Baptist as an administrative graduate assistant in the athletics department, working with the departments marketing efforts as well as event operations.
A 2007 graduate of Southwest Baptist with a B.A. in community recreation, Canaday earned one letter in tennis for the Bearcats. He currently working towards his Master[apos]s in education from the school. Canady is originally from Monett, Missouri.
