Jason Lateko was named assistant coach for the Stony Brook men[apos]s and women[apos]s tennis teams in September of 2014.
Lateko spent two years as a volunteer assistant at TCU, where he helped Stefanie Tan to a berth in the NCAA Singles Championships. He helped the Horned Frogs to victories over Texas, Vanderbilt, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Pepperdine. In 2012-13, TCU earned a ranking of No. 19 and a spot in the round of 32.
Lateko, an Arlington, Texas product, was a four-year letterwinner for the Mavericks, and helped UTA to a Southland Conference title in 2011. As a sophomore, he was named to the All-Southland Conference singles second team.
Lateko graduated UTA with a bachelor[apos]s degree in economics with a minor in business administration.
One of the top juniors in the state of Texas, Lateko was a 2006 mixed doubles state champion. Over his four-year high school career, he went 90-3, and was selected as the Tennis Player of the Year in 2006. After the 2007-08 season, he ranked No. 221 in the country.
