Ian Junge

Ian Junge joined Stony Brook Athletics in 2023 as a Mental Health and Performance Counselor, where he provides comprehensive mental health support to the university's student-athletes. In his role, Ian offers individual counseling, develops and facilitates workshops and educational programming, and collaborates with coaches and staff to foster a culture that prioritizes student-athlete mental health and overall well-being.

Prior to joining Stony Brook Athletics, Ian served as a Case Manager in Stony Brook University's Student Health Services, where he supported students in navigating mental health resources and accessing campus and community services.

A former Stony Brook student-athlete, Ian was a member of the men's lacrosse team and earned his bachelor's degree from Stony Brook in 2019. He later completed his graduate studies in the School of Social Welfare, earning his master's degree in 2022.

Born and raised on Long Island, Ian remains committed to supporting the well-being and success of the next generation of Seawolves, drawing on both his professional expertise and firsthand experience as a Division I student-athlete.
