Matthew Pucci

Matt Pucci joined Stony Brook University Department of Athletics in August of 2016 as the Manager of Events and Operations. In his current role, Pucci assists the Associate Athletics Director for Facilities, Operations and Capital Planning in the execution of all intercollegiate and special events.

He was promoted to assistant athletic director in July 2020.
 
Prior to Stony Brook, Pucci worked for two years as the Events Coordinator at the University of California, Merced, where he was directly responsible for the management of intercollegiate game operations, ticketing, concessions and in-game promotions. Additionally, he supervised the student event staff and Junior Bobcat Program, while also coordinating the scheduling of special events, equipment and mascot requests.
 
From 2012-14, Pucci served as a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Facilities and Operations at St. John’s University, assisting in facility maintenance and game operations for the department’s 16 BIG EAST programs. While there, he was given the opportunity to work as the Officials Liaison for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight games of the 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Tournament held at Madison Square Garden. Following St. John’s, Pucci worked for Contemporary Services Corporation as the Assistant Hiring Manager and Night Security Administrator for the 2014 U.S. Open.
 
From 2011-12, Pucci worked as the Assistant Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Special Events for LIU Post. In that time, he also volunteered as the Director of Media and Public Relations for the Brooklyn Knights, an amateur soccer club in the Premier Development League.
 
A 2011 graduate of York College of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in sport management, Pucci received his master’s degree in sports management from St. John’s University in 2014.
