Rose Sande joined Stony Brook in June 2026 as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. In her role, she serves as the primary contact for men’s soccer, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, and swimming & diving.

She arrived at Stony Brook after spending a year as a Strategic Communications Assistant at the University of Maryland. At Maryland, she served as the primary communications contact for the nationally recognized field hockey program while assisting with softball. She managed media relations, statistical coverage, website content, social media strategy, and game-day operations while supporting the Terrapins throughout Big Ten competition.

Prior to Maryland, she spent a year as a Communications Assistant at George Mason University. There, she served as the primary communications contact for women's soccer and softball while assisting with the men's and women's basketball programs.

A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, she earned her bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Roanoke College in 2023 before completing her MBA in 2024. She was a five-year member of the Roanoke women's basketball program.
