Men's Soccer Plays Albany To A 2-2 Tie

Albany, N.Y. -- Albany (5-3-3, 0-0-2 ASC) scored twice in the final 16 minutes to erase a 2-0 deficit and earn a 2-2 tie with 25th-ranked Stony Brook (8-1-1, 2-1-1 ASC) in an Atlantic Soccer Conference match on Tuesday afternoon in Albany.

Shane Arikian opened the scoring at 51:16 when he took a pass from Everett Watts and put the Seawolves up 1-0. Twelve minutes later, Arikian set up Watts and the Seawolves held a 2-0 advantage.

However, Albany's Charlie Justino converted a crossing pass from Jon Brainard at the 73:09 mark and freshman Jamal Lis-Simmons scored off a deflection in the 80th minute to force overtime.

Both teams had several opportunites in each overtime period, as Arikian had two shots that were barely wide and an Albany player saw his potential gamewinner bounce off the left post.

Dan Ferrin made 10 saves for Stony Brook, while Great Danes keeper Trevor Serraro had eight.

The Seawolves are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Manhattan.
