Men's Swimming Drops Third Straight

Jersey City, NJ - Sarah Doret captured first place in the 500 and 1000 free to pace the Stony Brook women to a 132.50-98.50 victory over St. Peter's College Saturday afternoon. On the men's side, Igor Voloshin was the only individual event winner, taking the 200 breaststroke as the Seawolves fell to the Peacocks, 125.50-99.50. For the men's team (0-3), it was their third dual meet loss in three attempts while the women (2-1) won for the second time.

Andrew Yalcin helped the Stony Brook cause with a score of 161.25 to take the 3-meter diving event. The Seawolves swept the meet in the 3-meter as Kristin Shubert scored 197.20 points and Erin Byrnes chipped in with 197.02 for the the Stony Brook women.

Igor Voloshin was the Seawolves' only individual event winner, taking the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:15.32.

Doret led the Seawolves with two victories, posting a 5:28.15 win in the 500 freestyle and an 11:23.32 time in the 1000 free. Other winners included Sue Slepetz in the 200 IM, Starlyn Rupinski in the 100 free and the 400 relay team.

The women come home to face Wagner on Wednesday night at 6:00 while the men host Fordham with the women on November 15.
