Men's Swimming Falls In Final Meet To Columbia

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's swimming and diving team (2-8) fell in its final home meet to Columbia, 144-95, on Friday night.

Igor Voloshin and Vasiliy Rodin were the only individual winners for the Seawolves. Voloshin captured the 100 breast in 1:00.59, while Rodin won the 50 free in 22.62.

The highlight for the Lions was diver Mark Fichera, who set a pool record in the three-meter competition. His point total of 337 shattered the old mark of 286. Fichera also won the one-meter with 270.6 points. The Lions improve to 4-3 with the victory.

The men's and women's teams travel to Fairfield on Saturday, Feb. 3, for the final dual meet of the season.
