Men's Swimming Defeats Vermont, 160-57

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's swimming team earned a convincing 160-57 win over Vermont Saturday afternoon.

Tim Larkin won two freestyle events, capturing the 200 free (1:49.99) and the 500 free (5:02.44). Igor Voloshin placed first in three events, winning the 200 individual medley (2:03.68), the 100 breast (1:01.65) and the 200 medley relay along with Jason Ferrara, Vasily Rodin and Ted Freeborn in a time of 1:40.81. Freeborn also won the 100 free while Roger Pugh captured the 100 butterfly and the 50 freestyle events.

With the victory, the men improved to 5-3 on the year. Both teams are in action again tomorrow when they play host to Maine. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.
