Men's Hoops Stopped By Hartford, 76-70

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - The University of Hartford beat Stony Brook University 76-70 Saturday, improving to 8-13 overall and 5-3 in the America East Conference.

Hartford rallied from a two-point halftime deficit and scored 48 points in the second half, on 18 of 29 shooting from the floor, to win. Five players scored in double figures for the Hawks, for the first time in more than 35 games.

Hartford was led by third-year forward Junior Amous, who had 15 points and seven rebounds. Junior Pierre Johnson and senior Mantas Storpristis each added 14 points for the Hawks.

Sophomore Ryan Stys added 12 points, two assists and a career-high five assists and sophomore Deon Saunders rounded out the scoring for Hartford with 11 points.

The Seawolves were led by Dawud Munir, who had 21 points, five assists and two steals in the loss. Mike Konopka had 15 points and six rebounds while JonPaul Kobryn added 11 points and seven boards.

The Seawolves fall to 3-17 overall and 2-7 in the conference.
