Men's Tennis Bounces Central Connecticut, Loses To UConn Saturday

March 9, 2002

New Britain, CT -- - Jens Pillgram-Larsen wonn all four of his matches and Stony Brook earned a split with Central Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves defeated CCSU, 7-0, but lost to UConn, 6-1.

Pillgram-Larsen posted a huge victory over Mike Furman of UConn, winning 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. He teamed with Egil Anonsen for an 8-6 win at #1 doubles. But Uconn dominated the rest of the match in exacting revenge from last year's stunning Seawolves upset.

The Seawolves had little problems against the Blue Devils, winning all but one set in the entire singles segment. Winners included Pillgram-Larsen, Anonsen, Philippe Amireault, Adam Lazarus, James Carpenter and David Hewitt.
