NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Stony Brook rallied from an 0-2
deficit to win games three through five and defeat Rider in the first
match of the day in the CCSU Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.
The Seawolves improved to 11-7 with the 30-27, 23-30, 30-28, 30-14, 15-8
victory.
Valerie Maloy led five Seawolves in double-digits with 15 kills. Maria
Semilo added a dozen, followed by 11 from Rachel Goldsmith and 10 each from
LaToya Byerly and Danielle MacKnight.
The Stony Brook defense benefitted from Julie Zub's 16 digs and MacKnight's
eight total blocks.
Rider's Jaclyn Levi had a match-high 21 kills, along with 15 digs. Amu
Householder added 14 kills and a match-high 17 digs.
