Binghamton Snaps Volleyball's 9-Game Win Streak 3-1

Binghamton, N.Y. - Junior middle hitter Anne Crocus had a team-high 17 kills and a match-high eight total blocks, leading Binghamton (10-7, 1-1 AE) to a 34-32, 30-25, 22-30, 30-21 victory over Stony Brook (10-9, 1-1 AE) in an America East Conference volleyball match on Friday night at East Gym. With the win, the Bearcats defeat the Seawolves for the first time since 1998. Up until Friday night, Binghamton had dropped 14 straight matches to Stony Brook, including a pair of five-set heartbreakers last season.

Stony Brook had five players post double figures in kills, led by senior outside hitter Rachel Goldsmith, who had 14 kills to go along with 16 digs. Junior outside hitter Abby Egan had a match-high 25 digs while junior setter Julie Zub had a match-high 48 assists.

Stony Brook is back in action Saturday night when it travels to UMBC. Match time is 7 p.m.
