Men's Soccer Edged By New Hamsphire 3-2

Durham, NH - New Hampshire scored the first three goals of the game and held on for a 3-2 win over the men's soccer team Saturday afternoon at Lewis Field. The loss drops Stony Brook to 3-12-1, 1-6 in America East play, while the Wildcats snapped a five game losing streak to move to 7-8 overall and 2-5 in league action.

After leading 2-0 at halftime, Logan Lee netted what turned out to be the gamewinner at the 66:37 mark on a low shot from 10 yards that found the back left corner of the goal.

Anthony Barberio cut the lead to 3-1 at the 75:59 mark on a direct kick from the top of the penalty box and then brought the Seawolves within one when he converted a pass from Kevin Cameron at 82:39.

The Wildcats held off the Seawolves the rest of the way to earn the win.

Senior Matt Thibdeau made five saves in goal for the Seawolves.

Tyler Jackson got UNH on the board just 3:28 into the match on a direct kick from 25 yards out. Josh Hareld made it 2-0 with 5:39 to go in the half when he fired a shot from the middle of the box after a Bennice throw-in from the right side.

The Seawolves return to action in their final away match of the season when they travel to Boston, Mass. to battle Boston University Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
