Army Tops Men's Swimming and Diving 144-84

West Point, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's swimming and diving team lost its first meet of the year after falling to Army, 144-84. Ted Freeborn finished third in the sprint freestyle events and was a member of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team to lead the Seawolves.

Nathan French captured the 200-yard backstroke in 1:57.43, while Kyle Thornton was first in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:59.26 and Kirill Alekseyev was the top finisher in the 200-yard breaststroke. The team of James Payne, Thornton, Dan Berzansky and Freeborn captured the 400-freestyle relay in 3:14.92.

Freeborn placed third in both of his individual events, finishing the 50-yard freestyle in 22.03 and the 100-yard free in 48.26.

The Seawolves return to action on November 12 when they battle Fordham at 5:00 p.m.
