Stony Brook, N.Y. - Cagda Bayram's goal in the 13th minute lifted Albany to a 1-0 win over Stony Brook in America East men's soccer action on Wednesday night. The Great Danes improved to 5-4-1 overall, 2-0-1 in conference play while the Seawolves slipped to 2-8-1, 0-2.

Bayram scored the game's only goal at 12:38, pushing a ball past a Stony Brook defender before taking a shot that caromed off onrushing Stony Brook keeper Dan Ferrin back to Bayram who knocked it into an open net for a 1-0 lead.

Albany's Bouna Coundoul made three saves to earn the shutout. Ferrin made eight saves for Stony Brook. The Great Danes outshot the Seawolves 16-9.

The Seawolves are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Maine. Kick-off is 12 p.m.
