Seawolves Fall To Columbia In OT, 80-75

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - Jeremiah Boswell forced overtime with a jumper and added five points in the extra session to help Columbia beat Stony Brook 80-75 on Saturday.

With Columbia leading 56-46 with 8:37 left in regulation, D.J. Munir scored 10 straight points to lead a 19-7 run that put Stony Brook ahead 65-63 at 2:13. Boswell's jumper with 1:47 to play tied it at 65.

The junior guard then hit another jumper and a 3-point basket to lead an 8-2 run that started the overtime for a 73-67 advantage at 2:51. The Seawolves got as close as 76-73 on a free throw by Mike Orfini with 50.9 seconds to go. But Maurice Murphy and Tito Hill each converted two foul shots to clinch the victory.

Matt Preston led Columbia (2-4), which held a 33-28 lead at halftime, with 22 points. Dragutin Kravic and Hill each had 13 while Boswell added 12 points.

D.J. Munir had a game-high 31 points for the Seawolves (3-4), connecting on 10 of 17 shots.

The Lions used a 16-5 run that carried over to 17:58 of the second half to gain their largest lead, 41-30. Kravic led the way with a pair of 3-point goals.
