The Stony Brook men's tennis team earned its first dual match victory of the season as the Seawolves defeated Boston University, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon. The women's team fell to the Terriers, 7-0.
Stony Brook (1-2 overall, 1-0 America East) picked up four singles matches and the doubles point. Mike Crooks defeated John Paul Debbink 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2 singles and also captured No. 1 doubles, 9-7, with Egil Anonsen. Jean-Francois Robitaille also won both of his matches. Robitaille topped Noel Moosa, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 4 singles and recorded an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles with David Hewitt. Hewitt also captured a victory at No. 5 singles, defeating Jason Vinoles 6-3, 6-1, while Philippe Amireault captured the win at No. 6 singles over Manuel Bulatiwon, 6-0, 6-2.
The women's team (0-1) did not fare as well in its first dual match of the season. The Seawolves fell to BU by a score of 7-0.
