The Stony Brook men's tennis team fell to West Virginia, 5-2, while the women's team dropped a 7-0 decision to the College of Charleston on Wednesday.
The men's team got off to a good start by capturing the doubles point against West Virginia. Mike Crooks and Egil Anonsen recorded an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, as did Jean-Francois Robitaille and David Hewitt at No. 2. However, Stony Brook managed just one win in singles action, as Crooks recorded a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles. The Seawolves went three sets at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 but could not come up with a victory.
The College of Charleston did not drop a set in defeating the women's team, 7-0.
Stony Brook closes out its spring break trip when the men's team takes on South Carolina State on Thursday.
