Volleyball Blanks Hartford 3-0

WEST HARTFORD, CT - The Stony Brook volleyball team downed Hartford 3-0 in America East action on Saturday night at Reich Family Pavilion in Hartford, Conn. The Seawolves improved to 11-10 overall and 3-2 in America East while Hartford fell to 5-18, 0-5.

The Seawolves were led by the trio of Maria Samilo, Morgan Sweany and Danielle MacKnight, who each tallied 10 kills apiece in the win. Sweany added 10 digs to finish with a double-double. Setter Julie Zub added a match-high 46 assists for Stony Brook.

Freshman Jennifer Monroy tallied a team-high six kills to lead Hartford while junior setter Brianne Paulson added 14 assists and six digs.

The Seawolves hit .293 for the match and held Hartford to a -.010 hitting percentage.

Stony Brook is back in action on Friday when it hosts Binghamton at 6 p.m.
