Stony Brook Falls To Fairfield, 3-1

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- Freshman Lindsey Lee (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) had 19 kills and 16 digs for her 15th double-double of the season, as the Fairfield University women's volleyball team defeated Stony Brook 3-1 (30-25, 30-28, 19-30, 30-20) on Tuesday evening at Alumni Hall.

Fellow freshman Jazmin Pa'akaula (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) also had a double-double, with 15 kills and 16 digs, for the Stags (9-8). Junior Casey Machon (Warwick, R.I./Tollgate) chipped in with 10 digs for Fairfield.

Stony Brook (9-8) was led by Maria Samilo who had 18 kills, while Julie Zub had 50 assists, and Abby Egan had 18 digs.

Sophomore Keri Kaiser (Vista, Calif./Vista) had 31 assists and 18 digs for the Stags, and freshman Ashley Hanohano (Hilo, Hawaii/St. Joseph) registered 24 assists and nine digs.

Junior Lauren Laramore had 10 digs for Fairfield.

Stony Brook finished the match with 66 kills, while Fairfield had 64. The Stags had a 78-70 margin in digs.

Fairfield returns to action this weekend as it travels to the Valley National Bank Knights Classic at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
