The Stony Brook men's tennis team swept past Quinnipiac 7-0 to earn its 16th victory of the season, setting a new SB school record for wins in a season. The Seawolves have won 10 consecutive matches and now stand at 16-1 this season.
The Seawolves battled with Quinnipiac in doubles as Tal Meir and Alamgir Wali fell 9-8 at No. 1 before Jean-Francois Robitaille and Egil Anonsen won 8-3 at No. 2 and Michael Crooks and Matt Jacobson teamed to win 8-4 at No. 3 and earn the doubles point.
Stony Brook rode the momentum of its doubles victory to take all six singles matches. Meir won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 and Crooks bageled his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 before Wali earned a hard-fought 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3. Anonsen, Robitaille and Philippe Amireault all won their matches in straight sets at No. 4 through No. 6, respectively.
The Seawolves will be back in action on Thursday afternoon when they take on Connecticut at 3 p.m.
