The Stony Brook men's tennis pulled out hard fought 4-3 victory over conference rival Binghamton on Wednesday afternoon in Vermont. The Seawolves split the six singles matches and took home the doubles point to defeat the defending conference champions. Stony Brook improved to 11-1, 3-0 in the America East, while Binghamton fell to 10-7, 4-2.
Stony Brook took the doubles point as Alamgir Wali and Egil Anonsen won 8-5 at No. 2 and Michael Crooks and James Carpenter continued their dominance at No. 3 with an 8-4 victory. Crooks picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles before Wali (1-6, 6-2, 6-2) and Jean-Francois Robitaille (5-7, 6-3, 6-4) each rallied from a set down to pull out tough three-set victories and clinch the win for the Seawolves.
The Seawolves return to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on the University of Vermont.
