Volleyball Sweeps Loyola in Three

Loretto, Pa. - The Stony Brook volleyball team opened up play at the Red Flash Invitational with a 3-0 win over Loyola (Md.) on Friday night. With the win, the Seawolves improved to 5-4, while the Greyhounds fell to 2-7.

The Seawolves dominated from the start, hitting .424 in the opening game to win 30-17. SB slipped by, 30-27, in the second game before putting the match away with a 30-22 victory in game 3.

Morgan Sweany tallied 12 kills and 16 digs, while Danielle MacKnight added 10 kills and four blocks. Maria Samilo chipped in with nine kills and three block assists, while Julie Zub posted 41 assists.

The Seawolves are back in action at the Red Flash Invite on Saturday at 11 a.m. vs. Iona and at 6 p.m. vs. tourney host St. Francis.
