Box Score

Fairfield, Conn. - Chris Megaloudis' goal 29:03 into the match proved to be the game-winner as Stony Brook blanked Sacred Heart 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon. It was the second consecutive shut out for the Seawolves, who improved to 5-1-0 on the season. The Pioneers fell to 1-6-0.

With just over 15 minutes remaining in the first half, Sacred Heart goalkeeper Matthew Weston came out of the net to challenge SB forward Bright Animdee for the ball, but the two players collided and the ball deflected off Animdee and right to Megaloudis, who fired it into the empty net to give the Seawolves the 1-0 advantage.

John Moschella (4-1-0) made the lead stand up, turning away five shots in net for his second shutout of the season. Weston made three saves for the Pioneers.

The Seawolves return to action on Sunday when they open up America East Conference play at Hartford beginning at 3:00 p.m.
