Jamaica, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's volleyball team lost in four games to St. John's on Tuesday night, dropping three straight games 30-24, 34-32, 30-27 after taking the opening game 30-28. With the loss, the Seawolves dropped to 2-2 on the young season. Stony Brook was unable to take command of the match after winning the opening game, 30-28, as St. John's evened the match at one apiece with a 30-24 win in the second. The Red Storm took the pivotal third game, 34-32, and put the Seawolves away with a 30-27 victory to seal the match. Setter Julie Zub continued her consistent play with 46 assists and Abby Egan recorded 26 digs. Maria Samilo and Melissa Votruba each tallied 11 kills in the loss. The Seawolves are back in action this Friday when they travel to the UConn Invitational to take on Long Island University at 10 am and Holy Cross at 5 pm.
