Box Score

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Kyle Antos' goal in the 38th minute proved to be the game-winner as Binghamton blanked Stony Brook 1-0 in America East men's soccer action at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Wednesday night. The loss snapped the Seawolves six-game unbeaten streak, as SB fell to 8-3-3 overall and 3-1-1 in league play, while the Bearcats improved to 10-4-1 and 3-2-0.

The Seawolves came out shooting in the first half, firing off five shots in the first 20 minutes, but it was Binghamton that broke through with just under eight minutes left in the first half. Darius Ravangard sent a throw-in from 30 yards out up to Joey Neilson, who headed the ball to his left to Kyle Antos. Antos one-timed a shot into the left corner and past SB goalkeeper EJ Xikis to give the Bearcats the 1-0 lead.

The visitors had another outstanding chance with time running out in the half as Adam Chavez sent a ball from midfield up to Barry Neville 10 yards out on the left side. Neville headed a shot towards the far corner, but a diving Xikis swatted it away to keep the Seawolves within a goal at the break.

Binghamton controlled play in the second stanza, not allowing a single shot on goal as it held off the Seawolves for the victory.

Xikis (7-3-1) turned away three shots in the loss, while Ryan Bertoni (10-4-1) made two stops for the Bearcats.

The Seawolves close out their regular season home schedule whey they host Vermont on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Stony Brook's seven seniors, Dorin Djura, Rob Fucci, Chris Megaloudis, John Moschella, Douglas Narvaez, Chris Scarpati and Mark Zajkowski will be honored in a pregame ceremony as part of Senior Day.
