The Stony Brook University men's and women's swimming and diving teams cruised past Iona and St. Francis this afternoon in New Rochelle, N.Y. The men dominated the competition, topping Iona, 84-27, and St. Francis, 93-20. The women swam past Iona, 81.5-29.5, and St. Francis, 94-17.
On the men's side, the 200 yard medley relay team of Fafael Labour, Jon Sigurosson, Jeffrey Chu, and Christopher Pai swam to a first place finish with a time of 1:36.82. Bryce Cullinane dominated the competition, touching almost 50 seconds in front of the next competitor, with a time of 10:08.09, while Labour took the 200 free in 1:48.26. French won the 200 IM (2:04.88), and Pai claimed first in the 100 fly (53.46). Chu took first in the 100 back with a time of 53.86, and Cullinane claimed another victory in the 500 free in 4:56.39. Sigurosson touched first in the 100 breast (58.03), and the Seawolves swam to a first place victory in the 200 free relay in 1:29.25 with the team of Cullinane, Labour, Omer Ozcan, and Pai. Tom O'Hanlon won both the one and three meter diving events on the afternoon, while teammate Seth Dusharm placed second in each event.
On the women's side, the Seawolves picked up their first wins of the season in impressive fashion over their opponents today. Stony Brook opened the day with a win in the 200 medley relay, as Kim Harris, Alison Porteus, Allison DeSanti, and Shirlee Manoogian, touched first with a time of 1:53.86. Freshman Lucy Liu nabbed the 1000 free in a time of 11:18.30, while Autumn Griggers was victorious in the 200 free in 2:00.00. Harris won the 200 IM (2:15.84), and DeSanti touched first in the 100 fly (1:01.59). Manoogian won the 100 free in 53.20, and Harris picked up another win on the afternoon in the 100 back (1:00.39). Jamie Bevilacqua cruised to a first place in the 500 free (5:18.95), and Porteus touched first in the 100 breast for the Seawolves. The 200 free relay team of Courtney Teague, Griggers, Bevilacqua, and Manoogian swam to a first place finish with a time of 1:42.24. Hailey Lewandowski continued her impressive season on the diving boards, claiming first in both the one and three meter events.
The Seawolves return to action when they travel to take on America East foe Boston University on December 3rd at 1:00 p.m.
