Volleyball Falls At Binghamton 3-0

Vestal, N.Y. - The Stony Brook volleyball team was swept 3-0 (30-13, 30-22, 32-30) by Binghamton on Friday night. The loss drops the Seawolves to 9-16 and 3-6 in the America East. With the win Binghamton improves to 17-10 and 9-1 in conference play. The loss puts Stony Brook in a three-way tie for the fourth and final spot in the America East tournament.

The Seawolves opened the match hitting .000 in Game 1 and -.108 in Game 2, falling behind 2-0 with 30-13 and 30-22 losses. They would rebound and hit .271 as a team in Game 3, but fall just short at 32-30.

Amy Oleksiej led the way for Stony Brook, totaling 11 kills and hitting .429. Morgan Sweany added nine kills and seven digs and Claire Lindner pitched in a match-high 18 digs.

The Seawolves return to action this Sunday for their final home match of the season when they host UMBC at 1:00 PM. Sunday's match will be the final home match for Sarah and Melissa Votruba, who will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony prior to the match.
