The men's swimming team finished third at the America East Championships this weekend at the UMBC Natatorium in Baltimore, Md., while the women took a fifth place finish in the conference championships.
Jeffrey Chu and Nathan French posted the best finishes on Day Three for the men, swimming to second place finishes in the 200 butterfly and the 200 backstroke, respectively. Chu and French joined teammates Dan Piastuck and Ted Freeborn to finish third in the 400 freestyle relay. Freeborn took an individual third place finish in the 100 freestyle, while SB diver Evan Ketter finished fifth in the three-meter event.
On the women's side, Shirlee Manoogian posted the best individual finish of the day in the 100 freestyle, swimming to a fourth place mark. Alison Porteus took fifth in the 200 breaststroke. Manoogian teamed up with Jamie Bevilacqua, Kim Harris and Courtney Teague to take third in the 400 freestyle relay.
