Stony Brook's men's tennis team defeated St. John's 5-2 Friday afternoon on University Courts to improve to 10-6 on the season.
The doubles teams of Jan Krejci and Tal Meir and Michael Crooks and Jean-Francois Robitaille both won the number one and two spots with scores of 8-5 to earn the doubles point for SB. Krejci went on to win the number one singles slot 6-2, 6-2. Crooks won the number two singles spot 6-2 then retired his opponent in the second set 2-0. Tal Meir and David Kortum won the three and four slots to seal the 5-2 victory for the Seawolves. St. John's earned their points in the five and six singles.
Stony Brook is back in action tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. to square off with Binghamton on University Courts.
