The Stony Brook men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 double-overtime tie at Central Connecticut State on Friday evening. With the tie, the Seawolves move to 5-2-2 on the season, while the Blue Devils stand at to 2-1-2.
The Blue Devils jumped out to a 1-0 lead 23:41 into the contest as Ricardo Rico converted on a give-and-go from Jorden Holder inside the 18.
SB rallied back, tying the game at a goal apiece in the 39th minute as Douglas Narvaez took a pass from Chris Scarpati on the right side and snuck a shot past CCSU goalkeeper John Ciano from six yards out.
Narvaez struck again 20 minutes into the second half as a Chris Megaloudis pass from the right side found Narvaez on the six yard line, and he fired a shot past Ciano to make it 2-1.
With time winding down, the Blue Devils knotted the match at two as Alex Harrison headed in a free kick by Holder, forcing extra time. Neither team was able to break through in either overtime as the game ended in a 2-2 tie.
John Moschella (1-0-1) turned away three shots, while Ciano made six saves for the Blue Devils.
The Seawolves have a week off before opening America East play next Friday when they host Hartford beginning at 7 p.m.
